Have You Ever Just Been A Witness To Life?

Have you ever just sat, 
On a random bench 
Not to wait
Or even to think
Just sit 
Outside, in the world of life
People go by 
The cars
The bikes
Life of so many others unfolding before you 
And not know anymore of that life 
then the short time
They are in your frame of view? 

Have you ever just looked, 
Watching nothing 
And everything
Not to spy 
Just see 
Energy changing forms 
The sky darken 
The pavement become wet
The umbrellas multiply
The movement in all directions
everything transforming before you
As time continues 
And you are not?

Have you ever just listened, 
Not to words
But the mush of noise 
All things make together, 
Just hear 
The unscripted melody of humanity 
And nature
And machine 
And you 
The air and blood
Flowing through your body
Until your sound is not your own
But part of the symphony of life?

Have you ever sat just to sit? 
Looked just to see?
Listened just to hear?
And done nothing 
But be a witness 
To life?
